Ms. Mitakides got back with me after reviewing the interview that I wrote up, and wished to make some clarifications to what I had written. I regret the error, and this information will also be in the October issue of ICTH. Her comments/clarifications are below, and remember to check out her website.
In the environmental portion, much that comes from a dental office can be disposed of properly or recycled; almost nothing is really reused.

Also, I don't think I said, "providing jobs in recycling". "Closing the circle" to me means getting the product, using the product, recycling the waste, then buying the product.... in other words, never just dropping the waste into the environment. I probably meant, "providing a service that benefits the business and the environment."

Did I really say I wanted to get states and associations together into buying groups? I think I said "some states and associations are creating buying groups to negotiate lower prices, and we should not prohibit the federal government from negotiating the best price." That is what I believe, and meant to say.
